    It is a physical journey but also an interior, spiritual one. Maimulu crosses valleys and climbs ridges, reaching the summit in an almost alien, lunar environment. Only the bare rock accompanies his journey until the mountain returns to the sea.

    Two hikers retrace the ancient paths of the Gennargentu mountains in Ogliastra, an area of Sardinia included among the Blue Zones of the planet for the longevity of its inhabitants. The exploration of this area along with the search for traces of the past gives insight into a lifestyle that could perhaps reveal the secrets of longevity and tells the stories of brave men whose defiance have become legend and myth.

    The short animated films made for the “Secret Kingdom” exhibition were created by combining different techniques. An ad hoc language was created for each one that would enhance the precious archive material, developing narration and imagery in dialogue with the atmospheres evoked by that rich graphic world.
